Your Writing Dept The Management Team Ron Creel Ron helped found Your Writing Dept as a way to bring quality documentation to companies and governmental agencies that have specific, short term needs for a writer, but may not need a full-time writing staff. With more than 30 years experience writing for various markets, Ron has served as a technical writer for the past 15 years, and has written and edited technical documentation for various companies including DST Output, Intel, Amdocs, California Department of Transportation, Altergy Systems, Akros Silicon and Placer County Redevelopment Agency. Ron has a degree in journalism and English from Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas. Tom helped found Your Writing Dept in the summer of 2008. He brings more than 15 years experience as a technical writer and an additional five years as a technical communicator. Tom has earned an MBA and a Masters Certificate in Project management from Keller Graduate School of Management. In 2006, Tom passed the Project Management Institute’s (PMI), Project Management Professional (PMP) certification exam. He is a member of the national and Sacramento Valley Chapter of PMI. As a technical writer, he has written and edited technical documentation for various companies including Verizon Business, DST Output, Kaiser Permanente and Engineering Design Automation. Tom has provided leadership by directly managing writing teams of contractors and employees as well as mentoring writers in a lead position. Tom’s philosophy for writing projects is to create clean and effective documents that focus on the needs of the intended audience.
